Terms of Service

These terms are a legal agreement between you and FateX. By using this website, creating a chart or buying Insight Points, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
1Who we are
FateX ("we", "us") is operated by a company registered in Hong Kong. You can reach us at [email protected].
2What FateX is — and what it is not
FateX calculates a traditional Chinese BaZi ("Four Pillars") chart from your birth date, time and place, and generates written readings and chat answers based on classical method combined with AI language models.
FateX is for cultural interest, self-reflection and entertainment. It is not a prediction of the future, and it is not professional advice of any kind.
Readings are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment advice. Do not make important decisions — medical, financial, legal, or about your safety or someone else's — based on a reading. Always consult a qualified professional.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy Insight Points. If you are under 18, you may only use the free features with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3Your account
You can browse and create charts without an account. To save your charts, chats and Insight Points across devices, sign in with an email address and a one-time code.
- Keep access to your email secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account.
- One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer an account.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give us accurate information. If you use someone else's birth details for a compatibility reading, you confirm you have their permission.
4Insight Points, pricing and payment
Paid features are bought with Insight Points (窥探分). One US dollar buys one Insight Point. Points are a prepaid credit for use inside FateX only.
- Points cannot be withdrawn, transferred, gifted or exchanged for cash, and they have no value outside FateX.
- Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay. Taxes may apply depending on your location and are shown at checkout where required.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Unlocking a report or a chat topic is permanent for that chart and that account. Re-opening the same report does not charge you again.
- Chat messages are charged from your point balance according to the length of the conversation. The cost per message is shown in the app.
All top-ups are final and non-refundable, whether the points are used or not. Only billing errors on our side (a duplicate charge, or points that never arrived) are corrected. See our Refund Policy.
5Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use FateX for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or defame anyone;
- attempt to access other users' accounts, data or chats;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt the service, or bypass rate limits, payment or access controls;
- scrape, copy or resell the service or its outputs at scale, or use automated tools to bulk-generate readings;
- try to extract our prompts, model configuration or internal instructions;
- upload malicious code, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may remove content that does.
6Intellectual property
The FateX website, its design, text, code and brand are ours or licensed to us. The classical texts we draw on are in the public domain.
Readings generated for you are yours to read, save and share for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell them or present them as your own commercial product.
7Availability and changes
We aim to keep FateX running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature you have already unlocked, we will credit the points back to your FateX balance.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use FateX after a change means you accept the new terms.
8Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, FateX is provided "as is". We do not warrant that any reading is accurate, complete or suitable for your situation.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to FateX is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make after reading a reading.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9Ending your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Closing your account deletes your charts, chats and remaining points; remaining points are not refunded and cannot be recovered. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
10Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, FateX reserves the right of final interpretation of these terms. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
